Sales team expands to meet demand

Prior Power Solutions has expanded its sales team to meet growing demand for its products and services worldwide.

With over 40 years of operational, engineering and business development experience, Bill Artis re-joins the company, taking the lead for UK Well Service customers.

After initially training as a Diesel Mechanic at Great Yarmouth College, Bill’s first job was at Dowell Schlumberger in Great Yarmouth as a Liquid Additives System Operator.

“This was back in the early 1980s when the oil and gas industry was really kicking off in Great Yarmouth. The town was booming and there were lots of opportunities for young people like me to progress, go offshore and travel the world,” reflects Bill.

Bill began to specialise in cementing after training at the Cementing School in Bottesford, UK, which lead to many years working onshore and offshore. During this time he trained in other services such as coiled tubing, nitrogen services, well abandonment & intervention operations, fracturing and stimulation, gravel pack and finally downhole packers and Thru Tubing interventions.

“Many of these were specialist roles that took me all over the world,” Bill says.

Bill then progressed into management roles, firstly with BJ Services in Great Yarmouth, then Weatherford in Aberdeen as their UK Coiled Tubing Division Manager and later with Hunting Energy Services as country manager for Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and Algeria.

Returning to Great Yarmouth with Hunting Energy Services in 2011 to establish a Well Intervention Service Centre, Bill first worked for Prior Power Solutions in 2019 as Project Engineer for Well Intervention Equipment until Covid and the global oil & gas crash.

After a brief spell at Welton Energy, Bill is glad to be back at Prior Power Solutions.

“I feel this job is perfect for me. Having worked in the field with the equipment Prior Power Solutions manufactures I have a full understanding of technically what customers are trying to achieve.

“It makes a lot of difference when customers can speak on the same level both operationally and technically.

I genuinely believe the equipment Prior Power Solutions manufactures is amongst the best in the world. The engineers we have in Great Yarmouth are hugely knowledgeable in what are very specialist fields and the production team really care about manufacturing quality products that will stand the test of time. It’s hard to compete with that passion right the way through the design and manufacturing process.

“I am fortunate to have travelled probably three quarters of the world doing jobs I enjoyed and meeting some great people along the way. Now I am back in Great Yarmouth, I am lucky to be able to say that I am in a job I that still gives me real enjoyment and purpose and I look forward to catching up with old colleagues and new people in the next chapter of my working journey,” Bill explains.

Adrian Sharman, Global Sales Manager says,

The knowledge and real-life operational experience Bill brings to the team is incredibly valuable to support our customers.

“Not only does Bill have the technical knowledge of our products, but he has unwavering passion for providing solutions to our customers through our specialist equipment that will undoubtedly allow us to expand our global reach as well as expanding awareness of our full portfolio of products.”
