Volvo Penta President visit to Great Yarmouth
Anna Muller, President, and Eva Gierc, Chief Financial Officer from Volvo Penta’s head office in Sweden visited Prior Power Solutions in Great Yarmouth this week as part of their whistle-stop tour of the UK.
The day began with a visit to our customer Tidal Transit to talk about exciting plans for the next generation of their crew transfer vessels and also experience a trip on their custom-built, high specification wind farm work boats.
The delegation, which included Mehmet Belibagli and James Clabburn from Volvo Penta’s UK Marine Commercial team, were provided with factory tour of Prior Power Solutions’ base in Great Yarmouth, seeing first-hand the wide range of Volvo Penta engines the company works on on a daily basis. This included the installation of Volvo Penta engines in the new equipment manufactured by the company, such as nitrogen pumps, up-grading of customer equipment to include new Stage V Volvo Penta engine, and repairing and refurbishing a wide range of customer engines used in the marine commercial and industrial markets.
Interesting discussions followed, particularly on new carbon-reduction technology in the engine market; HVO fuel compatibility and usage, electrification and hybrid solutions.
Following the visit, James Rix, Managing Director said, “After 30 years of being a Volvo Penta dealer, we are delighted to be discussing power solutions for a changing world and look forward to the next 30 years of cutting-edge power technology.”
