Prior Power Solutions’ recently established welding and fabrication department is gaining international orders as it expands its team.

Following 18 months of planning and development, the new dedicated team draws from existing experience, upskilling of existing team members to coded welders and increasing headcount.

Production Manager Chris Farman says, “Over the last few months of being fully operational, we have already completed a total of ten skid frames for the offshore industry.

“This has included two acoustic frames – all manufactured onsite to DNV 2.7-1 standards.

Setting up a dedicated welding team has been a long-term aspiration for Prior Power Solutions. Having the team and facilities in place and a pipeline of work ahead of us has turned vision into reality.”

The new welding and fabrication capabilities has enabled the company to provide existing customers with additional services as well as enabling the in-house fabrication of offshore lifting frames for Prior Power Solutions-manufactured products.

“Fabricating fully in-house gives us total quality control, a reduced lead time and ultimately a more cost-effective proposition for our customers” explains Chris.

James Rix, Managing Director says, “After investing in staff training, additional staff, equipment, and enhancements to our site infrastructure we are already seeing the fruits of this investment with fabrication work being awarded from as far away as Angola.”
